Make caps on how much someone can be awarded when suing the state. The state pays out millions in law suits each year. WA state is one of the only states that does not have a cap or ceiling.
Encourage people running for office to funnel some of their money into the budget rather than their re-election fund. It is insulting to know state employees are forced to be furloughed or are losing their jobs while the Olympian is printing how much candidates are spending on television ad campaigns, etc. If one truly cares about this state, perhaps helping the budget with charitable donations rather than 725,000 towards ...more »
Performance based contracting has been a focus of this administration. I propose we re-evaluate the need for this, per program or per agency. If the need is there, then seeing what can be done to keep state employee jobs, or keep the jobs in the state. Limit per diem and travel rates for legislative staff. Most specifically our senators and representatives. This can be accomplished through a cap, Or it could simply eliminate extra for senators and representatives if/when a special session is called.
