Tighten Qualifications for Benefits

In the last 10 years or so, the qualification level for some benefits has risen from the federal poverty level to two or three times that amount. How about dropping back? The idea is for people who can do for themselves to do so that the available money will be sufficient to provide for the truly needy and those who can't help themselves.

Corporate Welfare

End corporate welfare. No more free rides on the tax payer’s dollar. Everyone pays their fair share of taxes including corporations . If corporations want rights of personhood then they need to be taxed like the rest of us.

Offer to pay men and women to become sterilized.

Pay men and women a one time tax free cash amount to get sexually sterilized, especially if they are on any welfare, disability, food stamps, low income housing, or other government program, as well as others. Stop making even more babies they can't afford to take care of or are unable to due to mental or physical or addiction reasons, and forcing the tax payer to pay for it. Make sure the person can give consent ...more »

This would increase their income, while reducing Welfare payments and getting them back in the workforce. ...more »

Welfare babies

I would like to see the parents of the out-of-wedlock babies pay the bills. Each parent can be held responsible for their 50%. Too many of the Dads are working and don't pay a cent of the bills. The women can go back to work in 3 months like the married, working women have to do and pay their part of the birth bills. I'm tired of paying for their kids when others that are married have the full responsibility. The ...more »

Drug Test for State Payments.

We all know that Welfare is necessary to keep those afloat that cannot do so on their own. It also seems to be a known fact that many that receive Welfare tend to spend some of the money they receive on illegal drug use. By requiring a drug test to receive a Welfare check, not only do you avoid paying "free" money to "criminals" but, in turn, it is likely that the amount of drug use will decrease by the effect of the ...more »

Repeal Washington State's Prevailing Wage Law and Stop Catering to Labor Unions

Do not require a "prevailing wage" for bidders of government projects. Stop catering to labor unions. This artificially inflates the price of projects up to 3 times. There are many people who can live comfortably and without state assistance for much less than the prevailing wage. These people are very qualified and skilled, simply out of work. In many instances there will be two or three people willing to work for the ...more »
