Merging public libraries with school libraries

Think about how much money could we save if WA required combined public libraries with libraries in public or private schools, colleges, and universities, especially in rural / neighborhood areas. It would both increase public access to libraries, provide much better selections of books for students, and help WA decrease costs, saving millions in staff, maintenance, utilities, real estate and redundant book purchases. ...more »

Build more libraries

A few years ago, we passed a constitutional amendment to require only a simple majority to pass school levies. Libraries are the education institution that serves everyone in the community, yet library construction levies still take a 60 percent super majority.
