Currently, welfare recipients can't afford to take minimum wage jobs. Businesses have little/no incentive to hire people currently on welfare. I propose we reform Welfare in Washington to incentivize welfare recipients to accept SOME job by giving them 10% of their new wages above their starting welfare benefit. This would increase their income, while reducing Welfare payments and getting them back in the workforce. My proposed formula is available upon request.
We then also add tax incentives for businesses who hire someone currently on Welfare.
